Soloist, Soprano

Mirella Hagen

German

Mirella Hagen is a soprano who studied in Stuttgart and began her career in the opera studio of the Staatsoper Stuttgart. She sang in the ensembles of Theater Regensburg, Opera Vlaanderen, Oper Dortmund and the Staatstheater Braunschweig before pursuing a wide-ranging freelance career, and at the Bayreuth Festival she sang Woglinde and the Woodbird in Frank Castorf’s Ring under Kirill Petrenko. Since 2024 she has been professor of voice at the Hochschule für Musik und Tanz Köln. Her bright, agile soprano is well suited to the folk-inflected charm of Dvořák’s Moravian Duets.
