For teachers and school groups
The guides are free to print and share in class. Here is how to use them, and where each orchestra offers concerts and material for schools.
Using the guides in class
- Before the concert: print the Hall Companion of the guide (two or three A4 pages with the programme and what to listen for) as a handout. Every guide has it under “Listen & download”, with a Spotify or Apple Music playlist where one exists.
- Words: musical terms in the notes link to the glossary, which explains them in plain language.
- Reading at home: the Full Guide PDF adds the composers' lives, the artists and suggestions for further reading.
- Permission: the texts are licensed under CC BY-NC 4.0, so copies for a class are allowed. Name Concert Programs and link to the guide; see the licence.
To find a concert, start from the calendar, a city or a composer your class is studying.
School programmes of the orchestras
Each orchestra runs its own education work: school concerts, open rehearsals, workshops and teaching material. These are their official pages; tickets, ages and dates are on their sites.
